Juanito was born with clubfoot. David was severely burned by his dad who is no longer part of the family. Neither of their families could afford surgery until Esperança’s volunteer surgical team arrived in Ecuador to perform the operation free of charge!
Sadly, about 1 in every 10 children worldwide live with a disability. This fact alone makes them less likely to attend school and become literate. And it makes them more likely to experience discrimination, neglect, and abuse.
