Though the weather in Arizona is still mild compared to most states, we’re all experiencing winter and everything that comes with it. Unfortunately, that includes colds and feeling “under the weather.” We celebrate National Influenza Vaccination Week December 5th through 11th, and Esperança joins the call to encourage all Americans 6 months and older to get their annual flu vaccine.
Influenza is considered endemic, meaning it is regularly found in populations and geographic regions and has become predictable and manageable. The “manageable” part of this definition means tools and resources are dedicated to mitigating its impact. The flu vaccine is the most effective and accessible of such devices, and all it takes is a quick trip to your local pharmacy.
I encourage you to roll up your sleeve and get the vaccine. By doing so, you’re not only protecting yourself but your community. It is an easy way to give back to your community!
