Silvia Alvarez is a communications professional whose two decades of experience includes overseeing the development of plans, policies and strategies that affect the public image and standing of private and public sector organizations.

Currently, Silvia is the Associate Director, International and Domestic Communications for Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) where she provides timely strategic communications counsel to all levels of the organization.

Prior to joining the MLBPA, she led communications strategy and execution, corporate social responsibility, and charitable giving as Senior Vice President and Director of Corporate Communications for the nationally recognized and fully integrated regional financial services firm, First Horizon National Corp.

Her career includes executing national consumer product launches and promotions for trusted multinational brands. She has also served as a strategic communications counselor to U.S. Senator Cory A. Booker and philanthropist Michael R. Bloomberg. Silvia earned her Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University and a Master of Arts from Middlebury College.
